Primary Function:  The Development Operations Coordinator is the operation backbone of the Development team — managing systems, tracking deadlines, organizing data, and ensuring projects stay on course. The coordinator ensures fundraising operations are accurate, efficient, and professional, and donor/partner engagement is delivered with excellence. The ideal candidate is not just organized but also resourceful and sharp: someone who notices what needs to get done, takes initiative, and uses good judgment to solve problems. While prior fundraising experience is helpful, it is not required. What matters most is administrative strength, common sense, and the ability to move quickly and keep the trains running on time. This role is an exciting entry point for a smart, ambitious professional eager to gain exposure to many aspects of nonprofit work. Key Responsibilities:  


Administrative & Project Coordination:

• Maintain calendars, timelines, and trackers for development activities, events, and stewardship plans 

• Ensure team projects are organized and moving forward against deadlines and goals; ensure deadlines are met and projects stay on schedule; anticipate needs and flag issues early. 

• Process invoices and reimbursements, support budget tracking, liaise with vendors, and manage regular reconciliation with finance department. 

• Provide administrative and calendar support to SVP, Development, Marketing & Communications; AD, Corporate Engagement & Special Events; and others as needed.

 • Support Board Development and Nominating Committees. 

• Provide other administrative and project coordination support as needed. 


Data, Analytics & Tracking: 

• Manage donor data in Raiser’s Edge (training provided if needed). 

• Accurately enter donations and produce timely acknowledgment letters. 

• Own moves management tracking. 

• Develop and run regular reports and dashboards to track progress toward fundraising goals. 

• Compile and report out on analytics for regular meetings and planning needs, including monthly stat meetings, strategic planning check-ins, weekly gift logs, etc. 


Prospect Research: 

• Utilize a range of wealth screening tools to conduct prospect research for current and future donors and funders. 

• Review prospect research and qualify donors to appropriate donor portfolios. 

• Prepare prospect reports and meeting briefs for CEO, SVP, and others as needed. Donor & Partner Stewardship 

• Maintain donor list segmentation for fundraising appeals and donor correspondence. 

• Draft, edit, and proofread donor-facing communications such as thank-you letters, meeting requests, pitch decks, and updates. 

• Serve as primary lead for Round Up program. 

• Manage annual fund activities. 

• Manage donor communications calendar. 


Special Event Support:

• Provide logistical support across all special events, including annual Gala, corporate engagement events, and donor/partner visits 

• Maintain event timeline, revenue and budget trackers 

• Coordinate with event vendors. Qualifications 

• 1–3 years of professional experience in an administrative, operations, or project coordination role (nonprofit or other sectors). 

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and speed. 

• Sharp judgment, resourcefulness, and common sense — able to anticipate needs and solve problems independently. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with databases (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) a plus, but not required. 

• Strong comfort with numbers, data, and reporting. 

• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and eagerness to learn. 

• Sense of humor and role-up-your-sleeves attitude. 

• Genuine enthusiasm for Goodwill’s mission of creating a world with no barriers to employment.
