Description
The Aviation Repair and Warranty Administrator is a critical role responsible for managing all aspects of aircraft component repairs and warranty claims. This includes the end-to-end processing of repair orders and warranty claims, with a strong emphasis on data analysis to identify trends, drive cost-saving initiatives, and improve financial recovery. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with exceptional communication skills, capable of transforming complex technical and financial data into actionable business insights.
Essential duties and responsibilities Repair administration
- Manage the end-to-end repair process for aircraft components (rotables/repairable), including tracking, documentation, and coordination with vendors.
- Analyze repair quotes and historical data to ensure cost accuracy and identify opportunities for vendor negotiation.
- Maintain accurate records of all repair activities, including repair orders, quotes, and work orders.
- Collaborate with the maintenance and inventory teams to manage component status and expedite repairs to minimize aircraft downtime.
Warranty claims management
- Adjudicate warranty claims by conducting in-depth technical and financial reviews of documentation and work orders against manufacturer policies.
- Submit and track warranty claims with suppliers to maximize financial recovery.
- Investigate and resolve rejected or disputed claims by analyzing data and communicating with suppliers to secure reimbursement or maintenance to improve internal processes.
Advanced data analysis and reporting
- Collect, organize, and conduct deep analysis of operational data related to warranties, repairs, and component failures.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, macros), SQL queries, or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) to identify patterns, root causes, and cost-avoidance opportunities.
- Develop, maintain, and present regular reports and dashboards on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as warranty spend, repair turnaround times, and financial recovery metrics to senior leadership.
Communication and collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between internal departments (Finance, Supply Chain and Maintenance) and external parties (manufacturers, vendors) regarding warranty and repair matters.
- Clearly and professionally present analytical findings and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers for repairs and warranty reimbursement based on data-driven insights.
- Train and mentor internal teams on optimal warranty and repair processes informed by data analysis.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in quantitative fields such as Data Science, Statistics, or a technical field like Aviation Management or Engineering.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in aviation maintenance administration, warranty claims, or a related role.
- Proven experience in performing data analysis, identifying trends, and presenting findings.
- Experience working in a commercial MRO or airline environment is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, macros) is required.
- Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation is preferred.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Proficiency in aviation maintenance tracking software.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical and financial data to drive decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data findings clearly and concisely.
- Aviation Knowledge: Understanding of aircraft components, maintenance procedures, and FAA regulations.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- Must meet airport badging requirements, including a TSA Security background check
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet all company insurance criteria
