We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our procurement team for a large manufacturer of commercial boilers. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of critical components to ensure on-time delivery of parts, while also providing support, training, and mentorship to junior buyers. This role requires a balance of tactical buying, supplier management, and leadership to drive procurement excellence and operational efficiency. 

Job Location: Thomasville, GA

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage purchasing activities to ensure on-time delivery of parts and materials for production. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues proactively. 
  • Collaborate closely with materials, production, and engineering teams to align supply with business needs. 
  • Support and mentor junior buyers through training, coaching, and daily guidance. 
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex supplier or material issues. 
  • Identify and implement best practices in procurement processes. 
  • Contribute to department KPIs such as cost savings, inventory accuracy, and supplier performance. 
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen supply chain reliability. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred). 
  • 5+ years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing. 
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, negotiation, and supplier management. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and influence others. 
  • ERP/MRP system experience (IFS, SAP, or equivalent preferred). 
  • Certification such as CPM, CPSM, or APICS (a plus).
