Position requires proficiency to mentor, instruct, counsel, supervise, and evaluate the students in clinical education.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Part-time; 21-29 hours per week.
- Monday – Friday; varies per semester
- Hours range from 8a – 5p, depending on the semester and day of the week.
- Must be flexible and able to travel to each clinical education center, as needed.
- Per the clinical affiliations, submit to and pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Must be UTD and provide proof of vaccinations and
- Must submit to a flu vaccine (Oct 1st -15th)
- AHA BLS CPR certified (current)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide proficient supervision, instruction, and evaluation of radiography students at all major and minor clinical education centers:
- Service areas: Roanoke Rapids, Rocky Mount, Wilson, and Tarboro
- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive community college and program philosophy and mission.
- Perform efficient, timely, and accurate student record documentation.
- Uphold the formalized relations between the program and clinical education centers to help assure the quality of clinical education by delineating appropriate responsibilities of the program and clinical setting.
- Act a team player when working with any and all employees of the college and clinical education centers.
- Reports to the program clinical coordinator and the program director.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed.
- Ensure compliance with JRCERT standards and institutional policies.
- Attend faculty meetings and training sessions as required.
- Ensure safe and effective patient care practices when applicable
- Possess strong written and communication and organizational skills.
- Candidate must treat others respectfully, speak to others courteously, and behave in such a way to create an environment that is marked by trustworthiness and honesty.
- Candidate must be dedicated to excellence in student mentoring, instructing, supervising, and evaluating.

- Maintains knowledgeable of Radiography program goals and mission
- Understands the clinical objectives and clinical evaluation system
- Understands the sequencing of didactic instruction and clinical education
- Provides students with clinical instruction and supervision

- Maintains competency in the professional discipline and instructional and evaluative techniques through continuing professional development
- Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress.
- Participates in the assessment process, as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications
MIMIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Instructor must meet all SACSCOC faculty credentials for this position.
- Holds, at a minimum, an Associate of Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.) in Radiography from an accredited institution and program.
- Holds current national certification and registration to practice as a Registered Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); carrying the credentials R.T.(R)(ARRT)
- Minimum 2 years staff radiographer with CR and DR experience
