Position Purpose   

The Electrical Program Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the Electrician Technician program, including oversight of faculty and staff, curriculum development, and daily program operations. In addition to coordinating instruction, this role ensures compliance with institutional, state, and accreditation standards. The Program Coordinator plays a key role in supporting student success by fostering a structured, safe, and engaging learning environment that prepares students for careers in the electrical industry.

Key Duties

  • Lead the coordination and delivery of effective instruction in electrical theory, safety, and practical applications, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Supervise and support faculty and staff, contributing to a positive educational environment that fosters student engagement and achievement.
  • Oversee daily program operations, including class scheduling, curriculum implementation, student support, and compliance with academic and regulatory requirements.
  • This position ensures the Electrician Technician program is effectively managed and prepares students for entry into the electrical trade, contributing to the overall mission and success of the institution.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of the Electrician Technician program, including faculty supervision and daily operational oversight.
  • Collaborate with Campus and Home Office Education Directors to support curriculum development, schedule classes, and maintain lab equipment and instructional tools.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of instructors and course content to ensure quality and alignment with program objectives.
  • Lead faculty meetings and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, professional development seminars, and educational conferences.
  • Manage instructional staff, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, and, when necessary, disciplinary actions or terminations.
  • Assign teaching schedules and serve as a substitute instructor when needed to maintain program continuity.
  • Provide academic advisement and mentorship to students, particularly those identified as "at risk," and document interventions appropriately.
  • Audit program materials to ensure instructors are using current syllabi, lesson plans, and textbooks.
  • Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, local, and accrediting body regulations related to the program.
  • Monitor and assess student performance on required projects to ensure alignment with learning outcomes and curriculum standards.
  • Track and document student attendance, academic progress, and administrative changes (e.g., probation, LOAs, restarts) in CampusNexus.
  • Oversee inventory and procurement of tools, supplies, and instructional materials needed for student projects.
  • Assist in the design, development, or fabrication of training aids and lab materials to support program instruction.
  • Ensure a safe instructional environment by adhering to OSHA guidelines and other safety standards.
  • Mentor new faculty and staff to support onboarding and foster a collaborative, student-centered work culture.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Up-to-date knowledge of electrical systems, safety practices, and instructional methods
  • Minimum of four (4) years of hands-on electrical experience or three (3) years of relevant teaching/leadership experience in an educational setting
  • Ability to manage academic programs in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on student service and teamwork
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, including evenings or weekends

Preferred Qualifications  

  • National Center for Construction Education and Research (The NCCER ICTP Certification is required before instructors start teaching classes. Company will pay for certification.)
  • OSHA 30-hour safety certification within 6 months of hire date.
  • CPR certification current or within 3 months of hire date.
  • Electrical Journeyman or Master License preferred
  • Associate’s degree or higher in a related field

Work Schedule Applicants will be considered for the following schedules:

  • Option 1: Monday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM; Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Option 2: Monday – Thursday: 1:30 PM – 11:00 PM; Friday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
