We are looking for a Parts Delivery Driver who is enthusiastic, honest, hard-working, organized, and committed to great customer service. Parts Delivery Driver’s pay is dependent on skills and experience.
The Parts Delivery Driver is an entry level position within the Parts Department, and as such it can be your first step in your career with Dalton Motors. The Parts Delivery Driver is responsible for safely delivering auto parts to body shops and organizing parts orders to be delivered, ensuring accuracy of deliveries, and maintaining accurate record of deliveries and parts returned.
Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Dalton Motors services Dalton Subaru National City, Dalton Toyota National City, and is located less than 20 minutes from most areas of San Diego. Founded in Guadalajara in 1945, Dalton Motors is a family owned and operated business with over 30 dealerships serving major manufacturers including Subaru, Toyota, and others. They are continuing the legacy of Frank Motors, an automotive and community presence since 1965. Dalton Motors has a large and well stocked parts department and a Service Development Center (SDC) dedicated to setting and reminding customers of their service appointments. We have extremely knowledgeable and experienced service advisors who are highly productive and use to working in a fast-paced, customer friendly environment. We have ongoing training for our staff, including technician and service advisor/consultant training from the manufacturer, new product on-line training, and job specific training by our in-house trainer. Our service and parts areas run very smoothly in large part due to our solid processes and trained, skilled staff, many of whom have been at the dealerships for twenty years or more.
Some of What You’ll do:
- Drives company vehicle to picks up and deliver parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
- Checks with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last-minute pick-ups or deliveries.
- Verifies that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up.
- Checks payments received with the invoices for each delivery.
- Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups. Requests recipient's signature on each delivery entry.
- Unloads truck each night. Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
- Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean and making sure required inspections are performed.
- Advises parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
- Helps maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by ownership, upper management and/or immediate supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Experience, Education, or Skills Required:
- Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Available to work weekends.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Prior delivery or driving experience preferred.
- General knowledge of San Diego and surrounding areas.
