HR Coordinator/Recruiter
Position Summary:
As a member of the Division of Student Life Human Resources (HR) team, the HR Coordinator/Recruiter will provide dedicated support for recruitment of staff within the Division. This position has primary responsibility for managing the full recruitment lifecycle, including reviewing job descriptions and creating job postings, executing job advertising, screening applicant submissions, providing phone screening and interview support, participating in interviews as needed, processing job offers, and facilitating background checks. The HR Coordinator/Recruiter will ensure an excellent customer service approach and positive candidate experience throughout all recruitment and pre-onboarding processes.
Specific Job Duties & Tasks:
Create, publish, advertise, and maintain search requisition information in the applicant tracking system.
Provide an efficient and high-touch experience for every candidate from the application stage to offer, evaluating skill level, driving the interview process and offer process, including background checks and dispositioning of candidates.
Communicate effectively with the interview team to ensure preparedness during the interview process. Share and exchange information with all levels of management.
Assist with interview scheduling including coordinating schedules with applicants and interviewers, creating calendars, sending interview confirmations, monitoring inboxes, and reconciling interview cancellations.
Screen applicants before moving their applications forward by reviewing application material and cover letters against advertised qualifications. Contacting applicants and hiring supervisors as needed for clarification.
Manage various stages of dispositioning throughout the recruitment process in the applicant tracking system; uphold confidentiality when handling applicant information.
Process offer letters within university policy and pay practices and complete pre-onboarding for new hires.
Assist hiring supervisors and interview teams with access and navigation of applicant tracking system.
Develop and maintain internal/external relationships related to the recruitment process, which may include hiring managers, HR professionals, industry contacts, candidates, etc.
Partner with HR unit representatives and hiring managers to assess talent requirements and advise on hiring strategies.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the position; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Human resources experience (typically 1-3 years) performing administrative functions such as recruitment, onboarding, using HR information systems, etc. either in an HR role or HR environment.
Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining a welcoming and respectful environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and to meet or exceed customer service needs.
Basic proficiency in the use of typical office software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office) and HR systems.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with recruitment and onboarding (typically 1-3 years).
Working experience with talent management systems and/or applicant tracking systems.
Experience applying state and federal regulations affecting human resources.
