Position Highlights:
$30.55/Hour
What You’ll Do:
Facilitates the creation of educational and recreational activities for youth to participate in after school.
Coordinates all local program elements for the 21st CCLC program at the site.
Ensures 21st CCLC goals meet contract and grant expectations.
Creates programs to enhance regular academic instruction to increase achievement in Reading and Mathematics.
Coordinates with Parent Instructors and/or Community Educators to increase parent involvement and their proficiency/literacy in English.
Assists the 21st CCLC Advisory Committee to establish and implement guidelines and procedures.
Plans, schedules, and/or facilitates Advisory Committee meetings including parents, students, program staff, school administrators, and community members per grant guidelines.
Participates in, staff development/training.
Attends Board, unit and MVPC meetings as directed by program management.
Compiles and completes documentation of student attendance and academic achievement. Provides various reports as required 21st CCLC data.
Coaches, mentors and trains direct report staff. Assesses competencies of staff, provides continuous performance management and conducts employee performance evaluations. Addresses performance and/or behavior issues, clarifying expectations and providing feedback.
Participates in the recruitment and selection of staff. Provides orientation to outline job requirements and expectations, policies and procedures, and proper use of tools and equipment.
Supports staff growth and development. Assesses the educational and experience needs of all levels of staff in collaboration with the individual. Encourages staff to seek educational opportunities incorporating job related training in addition to mandatory training.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or comparable experience of a minimum of four years in program management and/or service delivery in an educational or social services setting.
Bachelor’s Degree in Education and completion of a State Teacher Certification preferred.
Two years’ experience working with students in a classroom setting Including one year of experience supervising staff.
Two years’ experience supervising program staff in a social service or education setting preferred.
Experience working with partner agencies preferred.
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate preferred.
First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification required within 30 days of hire.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. This position is not eligible for bilingual differential pay.
Highly organized with ability to multi-task.
Ability to effectively manage employees and administer 21st CCLC policies.
Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills with individuals and groups.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion to create a safe learning environment.
Skills in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Ability to compile data and generate reports using common business software.
