About the role

We are currently looking for a working student in the field of Database Management and Valuation (m/f/d) to join our global Financial Modelling Team for renewable energy projects. The role will be to support the team in further developing and improving our global benchmark database and underlying processes to enable BayWa r.e. subsidiaries globally to value renewable energy projects with common assumptions. This position is located at our headquarters in Munich or in one of our offices in Freiburg or Berlin.

What you will do

  • Support and enhance our global benchmarks database
  • Develop and maintain data update processes via a Streamlit app (Python framework)
  • Support the development of features for extraction of essential data for financial modelling in renewable projects from Microsoft Excel based data models
  • Design, implement and document automated workflows and processes
  • Develop and implement automation strategies for data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Engage with colleagues and contribute to enhancing best practice methods, valuation processes, knowledge management, internal tools, and templates

Your profile

  • You have a relevant university degree in a numerical discipline such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Informatics, Software Engineering, Finance or similar
  • You have strong programming abilities (Python or similar languages)
  • You are experienced in SQL database management and familiar with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI
  • You have solid Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with Streamlit and app development are a plus
  • You are a self-motivated and enthusiastic team player with a getting-things-done mindset and a willingness collaborate with all your colleagues
  • You are proactive and have a strong drive to improve tools and innovate procedures
  • You are creative, pragmatic, well organised, with a passion for advancing renewable energy
  • You have excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
  • You are ideally available for 16-20 hours per week, for a minimum period of one year, preferably longer
