Are you ready to put your automation expertise to work with a global leader in food processing solutions?
As a Field Service Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the installation, commissioning, and servicing of advanced food and health-processing machinery used by leading manufacturers worldwide. You’ll apply your expertise in automation, electrical systems, and controls to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality service for our customers, while representing JBT Marel with professionalism and care.
What you’ll be doing
- Install, commission, and service JBT processing equipment at customer sites worldwide.
- Perform automation modifications, upgrades, and controls troubleshooting (Siemens or Allen Bradley).
- Provide remote technical support and diagnostics from factory or home office.
- Carry out electrical rebuilds, modifications, and other corrective service work.
- Create and deliver technical training material for both customers and colleagues.
- Document service activities, reporting deficiencies and opportunities for product and process improvements.
- Ensure all service activities are carried out safely, adhering to JBT and customer safety standards.
- Build strong customer relationships while representing JBT Marel professionally.
- Perform additional duties to support the success of the field service team.
About You
You are a skilled and adaptable engineer with a strong background in automation and controls, capable of diagnosing and solving technical challenges. You thrive on traveling extensively and delivering exceptional service in dynamic customer environments.
You’ll bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Processing, Electrical, Control Systems, or Mechatronics).
- 5+ years’ experience servicing complex machinery; food processing experience is ideal.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting skills (Siemens or Allen Bradley preferred).
- Knowledge of IPC and servomotors (advantageous).
- Familiarity with thermal processing and food sterilization (a plus).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- A self-starter mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and passport, with willingness to travel up to 80% (domestic and international, up to 3 weeks at a time).
