Job Summary:
The Senior Project Manager is an experienced construction project manager who is accountable for oversight of multiple, and often complex, projects and for leading the performance and growth of Project Management teams. This role is responsible for ensuring construction projects are completed within the contracted schedule, meeting all quality and safety standards, and achieving profitability goals. The Sr. Project Manager is the face of Dant Clayton to all clients, vendors, and trade partners and is committed to exceeding clients’ expectations to maintain and elevate Dant’s reputation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and ownership of the entire project delivery team with overall responsibility for project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Lead and mentor Project Management teams, providing guidance, coaching, accountability, and professional development.
- Actively participates in the leadership of the CMT department, fostering a collaborative and high-performing project management team culture.
- Serve as key client contact during project, reviewing deliverables prepared by the team before passing them on to the client.
- Work collaboratively with trade partners, providing leadership and assistance in the total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Proactively address and resolve project delivery jobsite issues.
- Project accounting functions include managing the budget, tracking team expenses, accurate cost projections, and minimizing exposure and risk in the project.
- Ensure that construction activities move according to a predetermined, sequenced schedule.
- Implement project work plans and make revisions as and when needed.
- Co-ordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, including architects, consultants, contractors, trade partners, and laborers.
- Communicate effectively with the contractors and trade partners responsible for completing various project phases.
- Monitor the progress of the construction activities regularly and hold regular status meetings with all trade partners.
- Handle all trade partner communications regarding back charges, change orders, payment schedules, monthly application approvals, release of retainers, etc.
- Routine in-person inspection of construction sites.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety and quality standards and budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, timely, and complete.
- Proactively identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims and address as needed.
- Support sales in construction buyout strategies and contract document reviews
- Facilitate a smooth hand-off process from sales to the project delivery team to ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering/construction management or similar field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10-15+ years of Commercial Construction Project Management experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role.
- Verifiable leadership experience and capabilities.
- Past successful complex project execution required.
- Prior experience with Procore preferred.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations; models, monitors, and enforces safety practices to promote a safe workplace.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Supervisory, planning, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively deal with conflict.
- Must be willing to travel for work from time to time as needed, including on short notice if circumstances are deemed appropriate by direct supervisor.
- Capacity to handle pressure and maintain logical decision-making ability.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to travel as needed, including driving and/or flying.
- Ability to safely navigate through construction sites.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
