Director - Senior Meals
The Director, Senior Meals manages nutrition services operations including Congregate and Home Delivered Meals, overseeing staff, budgets, compliance, and service coordination while ensuring accurate documentation, fiscal integrity, and collaborative program delivery.
Job Responsibilities

Directly responsible for the overall management of Nutrition services operations, which include Congregate and Home Delivered Meals.

Assists the Department Director with program related activities such as budget monitoring, payroll, program expenses and revenue and informs the Department Director of any programmatic and/or fiscal irregularities.

Responsible for researching, problem-solving, and making the necessary adjustments to financial data in a timely and efficient manner and consults with Department Director, when needed.

Responsible for handling a wide arrary of administrative and fiscal-related tasks and for completing all required documentation in accordance with agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing, or accrediting bodies in the course of performing job responsibilities.

Responsible for and/or makes the needed recommendations for the hiring, discipline and performance evaluation of staff; responsible for coaching, supervising, training, and professional development of staff; responsible for assigning work to staff and ensuring the work is performed in an efficient, prompt, professional, and accurate manner and provides guidance, when necessary.

Handles all employee complaints as well as crisis situations in consultation with his/her supervisory chain and in compliance with Agency/Programmatic policies and procedures and treats each case with sensitivity and expedience.

Works collaboratively with the Care Coordination Unit to assure a seamless service delivery to clients.

Responsible for identifying, contacting and submitting funding requests/applications for local funding. Coordinates with Department Director regarding inquiries from funders and other stakeholders, both existing and potential.

Responsible for representing the Agency at regional functions and meetings as needed.

Ensures maintenance and accuracy of physical and electronic client data both within agency and as required by funder.

Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant Education:
Minimum: High School diploma
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Relevant Experience:
Minimum: 2-4 years of experience in the nutrition or food service field
Preferred: N/A
Certification/Licensure:
Minimum: Illinois Food Manager certification obtained within the first six months of employment
Preferred: Illinois Food Manager certification
