As a Project Engineer I, you'll implement an integrated plan for product development, including coordinating activities throughout the product lifecycle from the design concept phase to release. You will monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed. You'll also review, manage, proactively challenge, and control the status of project programs and budgets, manage schedules, prepare status reports, and guide and lead teams in achieving the goals of the program, including issue identification, resolution, and contingency planning.

In this role, you will be working within SNC's Mission Systems Integration directorate, focusing on SNC's expanding portfolio of ground-based air defense systems. This includes significant involvement in counter unmanned aircraft systems (CUAS), where you will contribute to the development and integration of cutting-edge defense solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including fielded systems, new developmental contracts, and internal research and development initiatives. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring that our air defense systems meet rigorous performance and reliability standards, while also navigating the complexities of integrating various technological components to create cohesive and effective defense mechanisms. Your contributions will not only drive the success of individual projects but also support the broader mission of advancing SNC's capabilities in air defense and CUAS technologies.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in a related field of study

  • Typically, 8+ years of progressive technical experience

  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practice

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development team

  • Basic understanding of requirements management, system design, integration

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Typically 2-4 years of relevant leadership and/or project management experience

  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers

  • Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management

  • Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions and test procedure

  • Professional Certification in Program Management International (PMI) and/or Program Management Professional (PMP

  • Experience or certification in INCOSE standard

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $143,487.14 - $197,294.82. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
