The Associate Financial Advisor position is included in a workplace model that allows for a combination of in-office and remote work.

As an Associate Financial Advisor, essential responsibilities include:

• Learn the processes involved in financial advising from beginning to end, including but not limited to, prospecting, cross selling, evaluating a client’s risk levels, portfolio development, etc.
• Through cold calling and the building of a referral network, develop investment business related to retail bank clients.
• Increase knowledge of all products offered and has a comprehensive understanding of the benefits and solutions provided by each product.
• Work in conjunction with other Financial Advisors to help manage existing client database and grow his/her own clients at the same time.
• Build client specific portfolios using stocks, bonds, mutual funds and insurance products after considering and evaluating a client’s risk levels and investment goals.
• Facilitate life, health and long-term insurance solutions as the opportunity presents.
• Provide general retirement and education planning to existing clients and prospects.
• After considering a client’s needs, cross sell other bank products and services.
• Represent STAR in Community and Civic Activities. Develop and maintain relationships with affiliate partners.
• Keep current on investment trends, opportunities, and compliance.
• Coordinate with Support Staff to assure proper documentation and annual contact requirements.
• Attend and participate in company meetings and training programs.

Skills Needed 

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Series 6 or 7 Securities License
• Life Insurance License

Series 6 or 7 Securities License and Health & Long Term Care Insurance Licenses are essential.
