Director of Youth Ministry.....is a full-time position is responsible for overseeing the youth ministry across all campuses.  This position will be responsible to lead, direct, and coach our Campus Youth Pastors as well as the Central Support team.  The Director position is the key vision keeper for the youth ministry at The Crossing.  They will have an ability to see clear and simple solutions to complicated situations, and to think creatively in strategically shaping the direction of the youth ministry in light of numeric and campus growth.  They must provide oversight in the theological/Biblical scope and sequence of teaching for YouthCrossing.  Creating a safe environment for all students is imperative.

The director must have a dogged commitment to the vision and values of The Crossing as a whole, as well as to the YouthCrossing ministries.  The director will make sure that all campuses are staffed and lead well to accomplish our vision.  This position will work with the campuses to determine what part central support plays in curriculum, events, and other youth ministry activities and events.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee Campus Youth Pastors, Central Support Staff, and other staff as needed
  • Communicate with Senior Leadership what successes and struggles are present at all campuses
  • Serve as part the Leadership Team, assisting in making key strategic decisions for the broader church and staff
  • Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and training process for all Youth Staff positions
  • Work with Campus Pastors to align on vision, staffing, and strategy for Youth Ministry at their campus
  • Serve as part of the teaching team for Body Life and other classes/gatherings
  • Serve as part of the Pastoral Team and attend Pastoral Team meetings
  • Evaluate curriculum based on scope and content as well as learning styles of youth
  • Evaluate current strategies, systems, and strategies for effectiveness
  • Make sure that our youth staff is current with youth culture and trained in current educational methods
  • Oversee the YouthCrossing budget and budgeting process
  • Lead the way in communicating between the youth ministry and other Crossing ministries
  • Help resolve issues that arise at campuses
  • Work with Senior Leadership in developing youth ministry options for future multi sites
  • Work with youth campus staff on overall budgeting process
  • Set and communicate vision, strategy and process
  • Float between campuses to observe ministry dynamics
  • Foster positive relationships with parents and families

Education/Training and Certificates

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
  • 10+ years’ experience working in large youth ministry, as a lead staff member

  • Attend a service at one of The Crossing campuses on a weekly basis
  • Passionate about their relationship with God
  • Baptized after making the thoughtful decision to follow Christ
  • Regard the Bible as God’s final authority in all areas of Christian life and desire to be wholly obedient to it
  • Wholeheartedly affirm The Crossing’s Statement of Faith, including our view on Baptism
  • Live a lifestyle consistent with scriptural principles
