Position Summary 

Sign on bonus available: $3,000 for non-licensed $4,000 for 1st or 2nd level license

The Team Leader for Engagement Specialist services is responsible for the management and daily supervision of a peer support team that provides behavioral health peer support services to clients and their families during crisis assessments, and to facilitate the issues of recovery into their daily living situations. Duties include but are not limited to assisting engagement specialist staff in providing support for clients and families in crisis, managing a case load for follow-up services, deemed point person for questions and problem solving. The team leader will also complete documentation within specified time frames, provide training, quality assurance, staff supervision, and attend required meetings.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, or related field or RN with demonstrated experience in mental health
  • Must qualify as a Mental Health Professional per Illinois Department of Mental Health Rule 132
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising a team in a social service setting preferred
  • Strong skills in motivating and problem solving with staff, and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Proficient in using crisis intervention techniques to mitigate the impact of symptoms on clients and their caregivers
  • Skills to adapt verbal and written communication to the language style of the client and their family
  • Competence in assessing and reassessing diagnoses, functional limitations, and developing plans to address these limitations
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate services from diverse community resources
  • Competence in using common computer applications such as work processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements
  • Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance

Responsibilities 

1. Adhere to prescribed work hours set by leadership, with readiness for additional hours as needed and on-call availability.
2. Use available data to monitor effective team behavior in compliance with standards.
3. Provide staff feedback on performance via team meetings, monthly supervision and annual reviews and provide more frequent individual feedback as necessary.
4. Participate as part of the management team providing support to the team and other departmental staff.
5. Providing support to their staff on how to effectively utilized their lived experiences to address the needs of clients.
6. Providing support to their staff as needed after they experience crisis situations.
7. Complete all necessary monthly and quarterly reports by appropriate timelines.
8. Complete all clinical documentation based on all appropriate regulatory requirements and Rosecrance policy.
9. Utilize variety of treatment concepts, evidence-based practices and service modalities when providing care.
10. Demonstrate an ability to identify an individual in crisis, reduce the impact of the crisis on the individual and their supports and determine appropriate disposition.
11. Lead by example through self-motivation, actively seeking opportunities for performance improvement, solving problems effectively, and addressing the needs of both staff and clients.


Schedule  

Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm  
Shift: Monday - Friday

Work Location 

  • Rosecrance Ware Center-Rockford, IL  
  • Work Mode: Onsite 

Compensation & Rewards  

  • Base Pay: Starting at $48,339.20/year
  • Additional Pay Enhancements in addition to Base Salary:
    • Professional Certification (e.g., CADC, CRSS, or CPS): +$0.72/hour (equivalent of +$1,500 annualized)
