As a strategic partner to sales leadership, category management, and sourcing teams, you will identify, report and implement reporting & processes to prevent margin loss. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a collaborative mindset who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Ideal candidates will be office based in our St. Louis, MO (Creve Coeur) office. This is a day shift, onsite role that will have some flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per month.
Responsibilities:
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Design and implement processes to prevent future margin erosion
- Leverage automated reporting tools such as Power BI and Beacon to enhance reporting and decision-making.
- Educate stakeholders on pricing and cost accuracy best practices.
- Create and establish continuous reporting procedures to ensure margin accuracy.
Margin Integrity & Financial Recovery
- Create and manage reporting to identify and recover lost margin due to sales pricing and sourcing cost changes and errors.
- Analyze inventory procurement vs sales data to detect discrepancies and overpayments.
- Develop strategies to recoup funds from vendors and customers.
Pricing Governance & Cost Accuracy
- Audit inventory purchase orders and sales pricing decisions to validate alignment with cost structures.
- Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to improve pricing governance.
- Monitor/report margin erosion trends and root causes and provide actionable insights
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business economics, or related field. (MBA preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, pricing strategy, or margin management
- Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions through data and strategic insight.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel: experience with Power BI or Tableu preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of cross-functional collaboration.
- High level of maturity and confidence necessary to interact with sophisticated internal and external clients
- Excellent project management, organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects and meet deadlines
- Outstanding attention to detail, flexibility and creativity
- Persistence coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment, work with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality of shared information and/or assignments
