The starting pay for this role is $23.81/hour.
About the role:
Recover money owed to Pen Air Credit Union for delinquent Mortgage and HELOC accounts. Collect payment from members by determining the appropriate contact method, while ensuring compliance with Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and all other regulatory guidelines. Manage the remarketing and maintenance of foreclosed property and assist the attorney with recovery on the losses of those transactions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contacts delinquent accounts by phone and mail; takes appropriate action to bring current.
- Analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrower; makes recommendations to refer account to the watch list or ALLL report when other arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful.
- Oversee the remarketing process of foreclosed properties, including ordering appraisals, property maintenance, and listing of the property.
- Identifies modification opportunities for our membership and prepares documentation to present to management.
- Compiles and prepares information for monthly reports and ensures timely delivery to appropriate departments and supervisor.
- Prepares all necessary documentation for litigation
- Performs skip tracing to assist in locating difficult members.
- Informs management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged-off loans.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
- A high school degree or equivalent. Registered as an active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) on the NMLS site. Must renew registration each year and update when changes to name, address, etc. occur.
- A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
Other Skills:
- Must possess attention to detail, time management skills, and excellent telephone communication skills.
