Schedule: Ideal shift is Monday- Thursday 8:00 AM – 3:00/3:30 PM, with Fridays optional
What You'll Be Doing
- Performing regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes (in AM)
- Enter orders into EMR
- Complete prior authorizations per insurance requirements scanning the patient the day before
- Appropriately positioning patients to scan the head/sinus region
- Explaining scanning procedures to patients as directed by the provider
- Observe patients during scan to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Select appropriate CT protocol
- Using computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ sinuses
- Evaluating CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality
- Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and staff members
- Daily scans, performs and send all images to purview (PACS)
- Report issues to Tungsten as needed
- Complete Facility patient dose log sheet daily for each patient
- Complete Monthly QA procedures as defined by the manufacturer
- Work in conjunction with the CT team to provide documentation for IAC accreditation prior to expiration every 3 years or per state requirements
- Calibrate Xoran Minicat (on the 1st of every month); file QC Report and upload to Daily Drop
- Quarterly Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement meetings with the Radiation safety officer/Medical Director
- Quarterly Dosimetry: file reports in CT binder and ensure dosimeter badges are sent in and distributed to staff appropriately
- Maintain all aspects of the CT binder to ensure accuracy and is up to date
- Maintain license in accordance with NM state law
- Follow up on prior authorizations
- Chart documentation of prior authorizations
- Complete Quality Control reports
- Scan patient documentation to chart
- Help front desk staff with pt check in, phone calls, chart prep, etc. as needed
- Help MAs with charting, patient rooming & triaging for routine follow ups, phone calls etc. as needed
- Must have knowledge of examination, diagnostic, in office procedures, and/or education as directed by the provider
- Must have basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Must understand common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment
- Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills
- Must possess the ability to maintain effective working relationship with patients, medical staff and the public
- Must possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in a difficult or emergent situation
Requirements
- AAS Degree in Radiologic Technology
- Registered with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Complete 24 CME hours every 2 years; 12 of those 24 in CT plus an additional 3 in radiation safety
- Must have 6+ months of Rad Tech experience
- Current CPR Certification or will obtain one within the first month of employment
- Must have valid drivers license
- 1+ years of CT experience
- Rad Tech, R.T. (R) with CT credentials
