Shipping Supervisor presso Atlas Roofing

Atlas Roofing is seeking a shipping supervisor for the Daingerfield, Texas facility.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping Supervisor manages, coordinates, schedules, and reviews the work of the shipping team.  This position is also responsible for the shipping and receiving of all materials and finished goods.  This position supervises the hourly shipping team.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including travel and other duties as assigned)

• Ensure a safe work environment through strict adherence to Atlas’ safety policies and procedures.  Drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety and housekeeping.  Know and communicate safety message with focus on developing zero injury culture.
• Support and sustain a culture where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation and utilization of people.  Maintain documentation, track, counsel and execute coaching and corrective action when performance issues occur.  Ensure workforce is trained in respective job duties.
• Develop work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow. 
• Partner with production area to assure products are completed and ready for delivery according to customer orders.
• Supervise loading and delivery of products according to delivery date, destinations, and truck capacity.
• Coordinate with Sales to assure on time delivery.
• Ensure all material leaving the building has been invoiced.
• Generate reports weekly to track the efficiency of deliveries.
• Identifies what the internal and external customers wants and needs and to act accordingly while taking Company costs and benefits into account.
• Assist in monthly physical inventory of finished products and reconcile warehouse inventory variances.
• Work closely with the Account Executives and other managers, to assure the highest degree of Customer Satisfaction, Quality and Efficiencies.
• Utilize Peoplesoft system for receiving of raw materials and interunit orders.
• Compile information and prepares various reports and records.
• Minimal travel to other Atlas’ facilities, training, and carriers and customers sites.
• Supervise, plan, direct and schedule the personnel and operations of the shipping/receiving department.
• Responsible for the rotation and tracking of inventory.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

·         Associate’s degree (A.A.) in related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing/warehouse environment, preferably in Shipping/Receiving/Logistics.

·         Previous supervisor experience preferred.

·         Experience with Peoplesoft software is desired.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

·         Fluent in English, includes, ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend.

·         Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

·         Ability to navigate Internet, email, and basic computer systems.

·         Clearly expresses thoughts and ideas in verbal and written communications.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across plant and functional organizations.

·         Knowledge of materials and inventory control practices, production scheduling, and engineering in a manufacturing environment.

·         Must be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.
