Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to serve as a Paralegal in this newly created role. The Paralegal will be responsible for reviewing organizational, loan, and project due diligence documents to ensure compliance with internal policies and investor requirements. This position will maintain and update the due diligence checklist, coordinating directly with Developers, CREA Counsel, and Investor Counsel. The role also manages third-party reports, responds to investor counsel inquiries on behalf of the Syndications team, and facilitates internal approvals to support timely and accurate project execution.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review organizational documents, loan documents, and other project due diligence to ensure conformance with internal and external (Investor) requirements
- Maintain due diligence checklist and track updates with Developers, CREA Counsel, and Investor Counsel as applicable
- Manage document sharing with cloud-based file management software such as SharePoint and Box
- Manage third-party reports to completion, working with internal and external clients
- Coordinate, gather, track, and respond to Investor counsel questions/comments to documents within the due diligence checklist on behalf of Syndications and in coordination with CREA Counsel
- Coordinate internal approvals
- Prepare closing packages for the transition of projects to Asset Management
- Other duties as requested, as driven by business needs
Requirements
- An associate’s degree in business administration, legal studies, finance, real estate, or a related field is required.
- Up to two years of experience in administrative support, compliance, legal review, or real estate documentation preferred.
- Paralegal certification or experience in a legal or contract review environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing responsibilities while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
