About the Role
We are seeking a committed and collaborative Teachers to join the Work Education team at our Broadmeadows campus. This role is critical in delivering courses to adult learners with intellectual and neurodiverse needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in building students literacy, numeracy and independent living skills and/or skills required for employment. You will become a part of a friendly and supportive team of teachers, where collaboration through regular meetings and flexibility are highly valued.
We are excited about you because you have:
Previous experience in teaching literacy to adults with intellectual disability
Currently studying (enrolled and actively working towards completing TAE within two years) OR have a completed Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
You’ll also bring:
Experience teaching in adult education, special education, or TAFE settings
The ability to deliver and adapt lessons to suit diverse learning needs
A strong understanding of working with adults with intellectual disabilities, including common challenges and strengths
Flexibility and creativity in your teaching approaches
Excellent teamwork skills, working effectively with students, staff, and support workers
Strong communication skills, including the ability to simplify or modify tasks to support learner understanding
