Purpose:

 

This position is responsible for providing management in the processing and maintenance of counterparty and product static data in multiple systems for the Global Banking and Markets (GBM) business lines supported by Global Wholesale Operations in Toronto.

 

The role has the primary responsibility for the on-going support, management and oversight of counterparty and product static data and related day to day activities. Included and, not limited to, onboarding and the day-to-day maintenance of static data across derivate, corporate lending, cash and repo source systems and to support the Fixed Income/Equity business by maintaining books and security set-ups as requested and trouble shooting issues in the front and back-end systems.. In addition, the support to 3rd party and ancillary platforms and client offboarding.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

Performing static data setup and validation including:

 

  • Strong working knowledge with various source systems like, WSS FX, WSS MM, SCOTS, K2, Murex, Xceptor, MMI, ADP, IMPACT, LIQ, Global 1, Anvil, GLOSS etc to setup clients as well as maintenances.
  • New Security set up across GLOSS, MMI/Anvil and ADP/Impact. i.e. New Issue codes, Futures, TIPS, US Treasuries Auction, Term Deposits, Amortizes, etc. for different regions of BNS
  • Candeal, Bloomberg and MarkitWire administration – handling of new set up requests and maintenance of the existing accounts
  • Identify trends / errors and suggest enhancements to process/ database to improve overall efficiency
  • Participate different meetings to represent the group among the stakeholders
  • Conduct tests in testing (UAT) environment and involve with project/system migration work as necessary
  • Any other duties as assigned

 

Security maintenance and verify/map/capture pertinent information to the related sub-systems including:

 

  •  Maintenance of all existing securities in front and back-office systems, ensuring that all necessary adjustments that could impact trades are completed
  •  Necessary adjustments include pool factor and variable rate updates on MMI/Anvil/Impact, ongoing monitoring/updating of CPI rates on MMI/Anvil/Impact, weekly updates to perpetual trading blotter, monitoring, and reconciliation of last coupon/accrual details between MMI/Anvil vs. Bloomberg
  •  Special handling of fungible securities, call/reorg/maturities, investigation of discrepancies/errors via Inspector and PXE modules in MMI, testing of new business initiatives in UAT environment
  • Being responsible for data entered into the sub-systems accurately
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the various security products

 

Performing other admin / routine duties as assigned from time to time, including:

 

  • Setting up transits, booking points in K2 as well as investigations, if any
  • Participate in BCP/BRP tests etc as called for including non-business hours/days occurrences
  • Re-build CUSIP for WSS Money Market
  • Participate in user acceptance testing activities for ongoing system enhancements or implementation of new systems as well as system migration
  • Input Float Rates into various systems as per set cut off time
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain the standard set of rules
  • Provide cross training to existing or new employees to create backups and reduce operational risks
  • Provide support in major project imitative through to completion as directed
  • Any other duties as assigned

  • Sound PC skills are required to communicate and operate within an automated, technology based work environment especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • High efficiency, flexiblity and solid organizational skills are required to complete work in an accurate and thorough manner within deadlines
  • Clear, concise oral and written communication skills
  • Solid analytical skills and problem solving skills
  • Work environement is fast paced and challenging, but very rewarding
  • Ability to work within a team environment and contribute positively to team spirit and moral
  • May need to work on Canadian/US/Asia/UK holidays to support global business/locations of Scotiabank
  • Knowledge of WSS FX, SCOTS, Murex, GLOSS, MMI, Anvil, Global 1, IMPACT, WSS Money Market, LIQ, K2, ADP, Broadridge, CANDEAL Evolution, Bloomberg and SSCNet systems would be an asset

 

Work Arrangement:

 

  • Shift schedule: Start times may fall anywhere between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.(EST), and may vary based on business needs.
