About the Department
The Introduction and Enrolling Clerks are responsible for documenting all actions associated with the introduction and enrollment processes of House bills.
Introduction and Enrolling Clerks interact directly with Representatives as they accept bills for introduction. They ensure accurate processing, recording, and printing of all House bill and joint resolution introductions. They also update bill status histories for both the public and internal legislative websites.
Additionally, this team of clerks oversee the processing of House enrolled bills—including proofreading, printing, and formally presenting these bills to the Governor, as well as processing corresponding public act and veto letters.
Position Duties
Minimum Qualifications:
This is an in-person position. The applicant must be professional, resourceful, and possess strong organizational and clerical skills. Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Knowledge of the legislative process is preferred. Applicants must have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and other programs as well as interpersonal and telephone communication skills.
