IT Security Analyst Overview:

The IT Security Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, and facilitating the IT risk program, security training and awareness program, running multiple audits, and acting as the gatekeeper of the IT security policies. The IT Security Analyst will partner with the security engineers and CISO to review policies, procedures, and standards to continuously improve processes to support the organization. The IT Security Analyst must display high integrity and a have a strong commitment to confidentiality.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and coordinate the IT risk program.
  • Review submitted risks, categorize, and score the risks, and work with the appropriate technology owners to mitigate or accept the risk.
  • Define, implement, maintain, and ensure compliance with corporate security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Drive the security training and awareness program using state of the art training technology. This includes trainings related to IT security, fraud, insider threat, and managing classified information.
  • Facilitate and coordinate PCI, NIST/CMMC, and TSA audits through evidence gathering, interacting with external audit firms, and following up with appropriate technology owners; Ensure the company is able to meet the deadlines of each required audit.
  • Update the cyber incident response plan and coordinate an annual table-top activity.
  • Document security incidents, investigations, and resolutions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Partner with IT, business units, and external vendors to strengthen security posture and implement security best practices.
  • Support the IT security ticket queue by communicating with end users regarding security incidents or unexpected behaviors.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends in cybersecurity.

Working for the Sun Country IT security team is a great way to experience many different facets of the IT security landscape. You will have responsibility over some mission critical programs and will report directly by the Chief Information Security Officer. While the scope of this position can potentially be intimidating, fear not, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field; or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 3+ years of experience working in IT Security or Risk Management
  • Experience implementing and facilitating a Risk Management program for Technology
  • Understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated attitude, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, assist in problem-solving and decision-making, or drive business outcomes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the travel or aviation industry

Compensation: 

Range $65,000 to $85,000

Full-Time, Exempt

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
