Summary
The Software Quality Tester is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our software products. The quality team oversees and assists with the development and production of mechanical, electronic, and software products and services. As part of this team, you will apply standard engineering techniques to design and execute test plans, identify bugs, and collaborate with developers to identify opportunities for improvement. This role is critical to maintaining our high standards and ensuring established quality standards are met or exceeded. A successful candidate should be passionate about software testing.
This position reports to the Director of Quality.
Responsibilities
· Develop and execute test plans and detailed test cases based on requirements and/or customer feedback and prioritization
· Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
· Identify, document, and track software defects using project tracking tools
· Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing, and testing for the Manufacturing teams
· Be highly engaged with the product development process to ensure adherence to the NPI procedure, collaborate on bug fixes and validation, establish and audit our robust process standards, and develop and implement product performance testing to provide for industry-leading quality products
· Assist in the development of automated test scripts and software
· Maintain detailed records of test results and quality metrics
· Continuously improve testing processes and tools
Required Qualifications and Skills:
· Familiarity with quality processes and procedures, and ability to devise methods to enforce quality standards
· Have substantial experience working in Agile Software Development Methodologies
· Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well across the organization at all levels
· Understand the stages of Quality Assurance for Software
· Experience with test management and defect tracking tools
· Familiarity with scripting languages used in test automation of functional, regression, and performance tests
· Excellent knowledge of Excel for statistical data analysis, including extracting data from databases
· Preference for familiarity with Power BI for data analysis and reporting
· Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
· Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and the ability to drive to the root cause quickly
· Be able to constantly identify opportunities to improve departmental processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness
· Preferred familiarity with ISO9000 Quality Management Principles or experience in an ISO9001 certified organization
Educational Requirements
· A bachelor's degree is required, ideally in a computer-related field, engineering, or mathematics.
