Actuarial Analyst – US Cyber Reinsurance

What the day will look like
We are seeking an Actuarial Analyst for our Cyber Practice Group to support our expanding client base and the evolving needs of the cyber insurance and reinsurance market. While the role is focused on Cyber, the analyst will have the opportunity to support and work with the broader U.S. actuarial group.
- Work with colleagues (brokers, analytics, and others) to identify and respond to client needs and develop additional opportunities related to products and services
- Inventory and manage data related to insurance and reinsurance portfolios
- Analyze the risk inherent in cyber insurance portfolios via pricing analysis with limited guidance
- Analyze the costs and benefits of risk transferred under reinsurance agreements via pricing analysis and dynamic risk modeling with limited guidance
- Contribute to non-standard analyses that involve collaboration
- Analyze cyber risk in Property and Casualty insurance lines through synthesis of cybersecurity intelligence with traditional risk modeling methods, contributing to both standard and non-standard analytics projects
- Learn and work with traditional actuarial tools for reinsurance analysis such as experience and exposure rating
- Prepare client-ready PowerPoint presentations to communicate analysis results to brokers and clients
- Research and report on trends in the rapidly evolving technology risk environment
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, a related field, or equivalent years of industry experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in the insurance industry, ideally in an actuarial role
- Completion of two or more actuarial exams preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in one or more of R, Python and SQL, or similar tools
- Complete tasks accurately and on time or ahead of schedule, being aware of timelines and expectations of clients and colleagues
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) for both technical and nontechnical audiences
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and in collaboration with others
- Flexibility to adapt when project timelines and expectations may change, and to adapt approaches when data is limited
- Take initiative on internal projects to improve processes, products, or services
- Take ownership and responsibility for quality, accuracy, and timely completion of deliverables
- Ability to identify and resolve problems, think creatively, strategically, and analytically

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $80,000 to $90,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonusvaries and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
