JOB SUMMARY
Provides specialized administrative support for bureau, programs, committees, and affiliations. This position supports the Health Department Clinical Services and immunization groups by using MicroSoft Office to compile reports and information, tracking expenditures and inventory. This position also interacts with clients over the phone to schedule appointments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) year of general office skills.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
A valid Driver’s License accepted by the State of Utah is required at the time of hire. A valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Utah must be obtained within six (6) months of hire to operate a County vehicle.
It is mandatory that all new hires receive the Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Acellular Pertussis) vaccine before beginning employment or provide a copy of their immunization record prior to starting employment. The immunization record must show the vaccine name and date received.
Upon hire, a two-step Tuberculosis skin test will be required. The first will need to be placed prior to starting employment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides specialized administrative and clerical support and assistance for assigned programs.
- Ensures program records and information are maintained and stored per retention schedules and policies.
- Assists in researching, developing and preparing materials used for public education, presentations, and workshops.
- Processes purchase orders, maintains inventory, and assists with cash handling and deposit preparation as needed.
- Provides general information/assistance regarding department/division services, activities, locations, procedures, scheduling, timeframes, documentation, fees, or other issues.
- Distributes public health information as requested. Receives, distributes and routes incoming and outgoing mail.
- Types and proofreads documents, educational handouts, and makes appropriate corrections. Records meeting minutes and assists with follow up on committee/board members’ assignments and activities.
- Enters and collects data and assists in disease report preparation and distribution.
- May maintain webpage information.
- May process and issue certificates, and/or permits. Receives monies, records transactions, and issues receipts; forwards revenues and reconciles transactions according to policy and procedures.

TEMPORARY POSITIONS:
An "At Will", FLSA non-exempt employee who is not eligible for County benefits and who must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.

- Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy.
- Are not considered merit employees.
- Are "at will" employees who may be terminated for any reason, without notice, and without a pre-termination hearing.
Work schedule is 29 hours per week in office during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possiblity of hybrid work after passing probation.
