SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has not supervisory responsibilities.
SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Homeless Services Manager, provides facility operational support to programs/management, and coordination of facility, vehicle, and equipment maintenance, food services, donations, and program activities/events for all components of the Sanctuary and Support Services.
Assist in the fulfillment of the agency’s vision, “For Those We Serve,” by empowering individuals who thrive as healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of our communities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for performing daily janitorial services, routine and emergency maintenance for the Sanctuary Shelters.
Provides maintenance for the Sanctuary Housing projects
Evaluates and ensures program facilities meet Federal, State, Regional, and Local safety requirements, , funding source and Agency requirements.
Ensures the Shelters and Sanctuary physical sites are maintained, clean, and safe in adherence Federal, State, Regional, and Local safety requirements, funding source and Agency requirements.
Makes and/or coordinates repairs to the Sanctuary Shelters, Housing’s master leasing apartment units, e.g., replace windows, maintain sprinkler system, maintenance painting, minor electrical and/or interior repairs to facility. If needed, this could include the LGBTQ+ Resource Center and CVAHT Offices.
Inspects and ensures proper maintenance is completed on all fire and burglar alarms, sprinkler and Ansul Systems, kitchen, and fire extinguishers.
Secures and maintains janitorial supplies, equipment and tools. Orders required supplies utilizing purchase orders.
Maintains all lighting fixtures and bulbs, replaces HVAC filters, and maintains vents in both Sanctuary Shelters, , and Housing’s apartment units, as needed at the LGBTQ+ Resource Center and CVAHT Offices
Ensures that the floors of the facilities are maintained, including stripping and waxing tile floors and maintaining wood floors. Cleans and shampoos carpets as needed.
Performs yard maintenance, e.g., mowing lawn, trimming trees, shrubs, pulling weeds, sweeping sidewalks, removal of debris from walkways, gutters, plant areas, etc.
Utilizes power tools for floor stripping, finishing and yard maintenance.
Coordinates the moving of furniture, desks, equipment etc.
Evaluates the need for and arranges maintenance, as well as maintains records for vehicles assigned to Sanctuary and Support Services and School of Unlimited Learning.
Coordinates janitorial and maintenance services with applicable programs, staff, contracted service providers, and neighboring property owners, including maintenance/cleaning schedule for all Sanctuary and Support Services sites.
Secures bids following Agency procedures and obtains appropriate authorization prior to the scheduling of contracted services. Oversees the timely completion of larger maintenance projects.
Picks up meals daily or as needed from Food Services for Sanctuary and Support Services clients..
Assists clients with moving in and/or out of apartment units, including transportation of clients.
Sets-up facility for meetings and tours as needed. Serves as facility contact during events that utilize the Sanctuary Theater.
Maintains a safe, productive work environment. Submits written incident reports and documentation as required.
Provides on-site Graffiti removal, and emergency clean-up of spills and accidents.
Adheres to the confidentiality policy regarding clients.
Travels throughout Fresno County as required in personal and/or company vehicle for company business, meetings, trainings, etc.
Responds to after-hour calls related to maintenance emergencies.
Travels for agency business using personal/agency vehicle.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
Works evenings and weekends as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three (3) year of related experience required demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including training and directing the work of others.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
CPR and First Aid Certified.
Strong organizational skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
Ability to maintain a cooperative team approach to duties and scheduling of work.
Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.
Ability to work well with youth/teens and diverse population, and with contracted service providers and representatives of partnering agencies.
COVID-19 vaccination required within 60 days of hire, unless approved for religious or medical exemption.
Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by agency carrier.
Pass required background investigation including medical examination and TB clearance, acceptable criminal record statement, Department of Justice fingerprint clearance, and child abuse index clearance.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.
Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
Bilingual English/Spanish or other secondary language preferred based on the needs of the clients and the program.

The employment site is primarily at Sanctuary Shelters, but also includes all Sanctuary and Support Service program sites.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to excessive.
