Serves as the initial contact person at a medical practice, responsible for assuring an excellent patient experience at the front desk and while in the reception area. This role is principally responsible for all front desk and intake-related activities. Responsibilities include greeting and screening patients for potential emergency situations in a service oriented and professional manner, answering phones, monitoring the reception area for patient comfort and potential emergencies, registering patients and submitting charges. Performs a wide variety of clerical office functions. Answers telephones, provides information and schedules appointments. Greets and registers patients, completes forms, collects and enters patient demographic and billing information, prepares charts, maintains office filing system, updates electronic medical records as appropriate and collects payments in accordance with cash handling policies and procedures. Assists in coordinating and optimizing patient flow.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Experience
1 year experience in a receptionist role in a medical setting Preferred
General Experience and knowledge of conversational Spanish and/or Vietnamese Preferred
