The after-school program is a vital part of our school community, providing a structured and safe environment for our students beyond school hours. St. Matthias School is searching for a warm, caring, dedicated person to join our After School Program. The After School Care Worker will report to the After School Supervisor.

General Responsibilities:

● Ensure a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment.
● Take daily student attendance and help with homework if needed.
● Ensure student understanding of program rules and procedures. Assist in resolving
student disputes
● Lead a daily schedule for children to follow, including snacks, homework time,
outdoor play, and indoor activities.
● Monitor and interact with students to keep students engaged in creative, artistic,
and physical activities.
● Monitor students while outside in the playground areas, weather permitting.
● Maintain the sign-in and out via Procare on the iPad
● Communicate with parents, as needed, regarding any issues that arise during the
aftercare time.
● Perform related duties as assigned.

Hours: Part-time, hourly position beginning September 30, 2025, until June 8, 2026.
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 2:30pm-6 pm. Off on school holidays.

Requirements:

● Must be at least 21 years of age.
● Experience from volunteering or working with and monitoring school-aged
children in an organized work setting (ages 3-14).
● Any other combination of training and experience that could likely provide the
required knowledge and abilities will be considered.
● College students, moms, and retirees are welcome.
● Ability to work cooperatively with others.
● Must complete Virtus training and maintain with online training (typically 1 a
month).
● Ability to pass first aid, CPR, asthma, and concussion certifications.
● Ability to pass background checks and drug tests.
● Strong working knowledge of childhood development.
● Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks such as sitting on the floor,
bending, and lifting children.
● Creativity and a willingness to sing, dance, and be silly and fun-loving with children

This position has an hourly range of $19.00. An employee’s pay within the hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
