About the Position

Utah Navajo Health System (UNHS) is seeking a Behavioral Health Operations Officer to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting Behavioral Health initiatives and operations across UNHS locations. Working closely with the Behavioral Health Director, this role will provide administrative, operational, and program support to ensure UNHS Behavioral Health services run efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Behavioral Health Director to prioritize and address urgent operational needs.
  • Collaborate with Behavioral Health Directors, schedule meetings, and update program managers regularly.
  • Maintain up-to-date lists of BH providers and positions; assist in hiring processes by working with HR.
  • Organize staff meetings and orientation events within Behavioral Health.
  • Assist with department budgets, approve and audit expenditures, and ensure accuracy of BILL entries.
  • Maintain petty cash for all Behavioral Health sites and replenish monthly.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy policies, and confidentiality standards.
  • Serve as a resource to program managers and provide support for activities and initiatives.

Requirements

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in a field related to human services.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in an administrative role.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and privacy policies; healthcare experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related software.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to interact positively and professionally with internal and external contacts.

Licensure/Certification:

  • None required.

Financial/Administrative Responsibilities

  • Assist with department budgets and grants.
  • Approve expenditures within scope and ensure accuracy in billing processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and petty cash.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Limited supervision; may provide guidance to lower-level employees.
  • Direct supervision of at least one employee.
