Hours:
- Monday thru Friday: 7:30am to 4:00pm
- Initial employment is office-based to foster team integration and hands-on learning. The potential for a hybrid work arrangement may be offered after one year, with eligibility determined by experience level, successful performance in the position, and the needs of the role.
Position Objective:
The Quality Specialist shall be under the general supervision of the Quality Supervisor. Performs essential duties related to Quality and specialty programs such as Emergency Preparedness Program. This position will be instrumental in the development and implementation of the Emergency Preparedness Standards. Quality Specialist will be responsible for organizing and coordinating emergency preparedness activities to ensure preparation for accreditation surveys. This position will assist with education, data abstraction, ACHC Standard review, Clinical Documentation Improvement and other duties as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities
Functional Leadership
- Maintain the Alomere Health Emergency Preparedness Program to be up-to-date with current standards
- Organize the Emergency Preparedness Committee Meetings.
- Ability to work independently as well as with other members of the Quality Team
Communication and Reporting:
- Comply with confidentiality of the medical record
- Collaborate with the Quality Supervisor, Physicians and other members of the healthcare team
- Communicate directly to physicians, providers and staff on quality-related projects or concerns
- Assist in quality (Abstracting), Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) and case reviews for overall quality improvement.
- Assist with patient concerns under the direction of the Department Director.
- Knowledgeable with ACHC Standards to assist Department Leaders.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
- Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment

- Review insurance denials and assist with drafting appeals
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN Program
- Minimum of two years’ experience in an acute care hospital and patient care practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or training in Quality, Emergency Management or Quality-related training helpful
