The department of athletic training seeks an experienced athletic trainer. Under the supervision of associate athletic director of sports medicine, the trainer works 10 months annually (August 1- May 31) and is responsible for assisting in athletic related health care under the supervision of the team physician(s). Responsibilities also include assisting in the supervision and coordination of LVC’s sports medicine program in injury prevention, evaluation, management and treatment of athletic injuries, short and long term rehabilitation of athletic injuries, and education and counseling of student-athletes regarding injuries and prevention.  Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in area of specialization and 4 years of professional experience, or a Master degree and 2 years of professional experience, as well as certification by the Board of Certification (BOC). State athletic training licensure, familiarity with NCAA governing rules, CPR-First Aid certification, and strength and conditioning experience is also preferred. Availability for significant travel, evening or weekend hours as necessary, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis (or with assistance), and a valid PA driver’s license are required.
