About the Department
Under general supervision, provides administrative, data collection and maintenance analysis relating to Fleet Management operations, and fleet vehicle lifecycle for all county owned vehicles.
Position Duties
- Develops and maintains databases and/or systems to record, track, and evaluate statistical information
- Analyzes all maintenance data and generates reports from Fleet Information Management System
- Interprets data sets and suggests corrective actions to improve effectiveness and eliminate deficiencies
- Maintains and collects fleet data associated with maintenance repair costs and fuel consumption data
- Prepares reports to effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictive analysis using relevant data
- Collaborates with organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements
- Identifies unfavorable trends and develops action plan for procedural changes or corrective policies
- Assists in the design, formatting, and preparation of all fleet management statistical data collection
- Provides cross functional/administrative support and may assist with vehicle acquisition and disposition
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from High School or a General Education development (GED) certificate, and five (5) years of experience in an office environment dealing with databases; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of basic office practices and procedures. Must have good knowledge of English spelling, grammar and punctuation; and good knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
- Skill in operating a personal computer, typewriter and basic office equipment
- Ability to collect and analyze information; develop statistical analyses and reports; ability to organize, compile and record statistical data accurately; operate personal computer and basic office equipment; manage time effectively; perform basic mathematical calculations; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees and the public
- Must be able and willing to attend training at department’s discretion
- Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license
- Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
- Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
- When required, shall work extra hours, holidays, evenings, weekends and other shifts
- May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
- Working conditions are primarily inside an office/school environment
- Occasionally moves items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally moves about the office
- Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Positions self to perform essential functions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
