Introduction
We are seeking an Engineer, Planning to join Global GBPS Project management team. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing the timely delivery of resources, materials, and services within our projects. Your role plays a crucial part to contribute to our business.
In this position, you will report to Manager, Project Management, SVS, GBP
This position is mainly located in Sorocaba and it involves up to 20% of travel.
Team you belong to
You will join a dedicated Project Management team focused on achieving the key goals of our business, being the primary responsible for profitability (P&L), on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, quality and fulfillment of scope and requirements. We are currently working on global projects for clients in the Mining segment.
We work closely with internal / external stakeholders, such as Market Area, Controlling, Supporting areas and Customer representatives.

The members in our team are based in South America and Africa. However, you will be required to maintain close contact with colleagues from NCA, EMEA, and APAC regions.
What you’ll do
- Develop detailed schedules in MS Project or Primavera, based on project WBS. Update schedules based on weekly inputs from areas;
- Monitor and report physical progress, deviations, critical paths, and impacts;
- Simulate schedule recovery scenarios (fast tracking, crashing);
- Support PMs in preparing reports and presentations by delivering updated schedules and progress curves;
- Support PM in delivering physical progress reports for POC contract reporting purposes;
- Integrate the schedule with purchasing, in-bound and out-bound logistics, and manufacturing milestones;
- Collaborate with the supply chain and engineering team to maintain realistic deadlines;
- Ensure that everything considered in the BOM generated by engineering has been purchased or manufactured internally;
- Create demands in SAP, run MRP in line with schedules approved by the PM and the final customer;
- Consolidate critical path supplier schedules within the overall project schedule;
- Issue alerts to the PM in case of deviations from scheduled activities;
- Prepare the shiplist and/or project activation list for delivery to the client, logistics, and other stakeholders requiring this document;
- Manage the issuance of documents to the final client (deliverables);
- Support the Head of Project Management in portfolio management regarding OTD, risks, and resource allocation;
- Work collaboratively with the head of project management and product lines in terms of stock utilization. Develop project workload charts with time-phased resource allocation, when required;
- Assist the GBPS proposals team with offer baseline schedules.
Who you are
- Engineering degree in any area of interest;
- Experience with planning and controlling for capital projects;
- Proficiency in scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera);
- Previous experience with SAP (MM, PS, SD);
- Analytical capacity and organization;
- Formal education in project management and/or PMP certification;
- Previous experience with global teams;
- Oriented to details;
- Fluency in English is a must, Proficiency in Spanish is a differential.
