Job Title: Staff Platform Engineer
Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park

Business & Team: The role of Staff Platform Engineers is to provide technical leadership, set strategic direction, and drive the evolution of tools, infrastructure, templates and capabilities that our other engineers use to deliver business value. You will architect and design complex systems, mentor engineers, and lead initiatives that automate and optimise our infrastructure and environments at scale.

The Cybersecurity Engineering group safeguards the organisation by delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing systems that protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data. Our mission is to support cybersecurity objectives through innovative engineering solutions and secure operational practices.

This opportunity is for someone who brings deep expertise in platform engineering, automation, and cloud infrastructure, with proven experience influencing technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-team initiatives. While experience in CyberArk, Identity, and Security Engineering is valued, the emphasis is on strategic platform and automation leadership.

Impact &contribution:

As a Staff Platform Engineer in our Identity Engineering space, part of the broader Cyber Engineering function, you will report directly to the Engineering Chapter Lead and play a key role in shaping the scalability, reliability, and security of our platforms. You will lead the delivery of complex automation and platform initiatives across the organisation's systems and infrastructure, supporting our mission to protect platforms, data, and digital assets across both cloud and on-premises environments.

Working in a DevSecOps environment, your focus will be on technical strategy, architecture, automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability, and embedded security practices. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence engineering best practices, and drive innovation, operational efficiency, and platform resilience at scale.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate technical leadership and mentor engineers across multiple teams.
  • Architect, design, and evolve large-scale platform solutions and automation frameworks.
  • Influence and set engineering best practices, standards, and strategic direction.
  • Are familiar with the full cycle model, where engineers are involved in design, build, challenge and run.
  • Have a passion for designing, developing, deploying and running high-quality software and platforms.
  • Write software and tooling that automates the operations of our platforms, infrastructure, environments, and tooling.
  • Maintain the underlying infrastructure to ensure that it is reliable, secure and scalable.
  • Automate observability logs and metrics, including dashboard, monitoring and alerting.
  • Are familiar with incident management, post incident reviews, problem management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and enforce platform policies and controls.

Essential skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team:

  • 12 +Years of IT Experience

  • Proven experience architecting and leading full cycle platform engineering including design, build, challenge, run secure scalable services in cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD and automation tools (e.g. Github, GitHub Actions, TeamCity).
  • Scripting/programming languages (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Windows/Linux Server experience, installation, configuration and administration.
  • Architect, develop, deploy and manage platform services via Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Ansible, Lambda).
  • Experience with containerisation, virtualisation, and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, AKS etc.).
  • Exposure to logging/Monitoring tools and observability (Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Experience with automation using REST APIs and scripting.
  • Exposure to CyberArk's suite PAS (CPM, PVWA, PSM, EPV, PTA, PSMP) is a plus.
  • Experience developing custom connectors and patterns for CPM/PSM is valued but not required.
  • Experience with onboarding workflows for privileged accounts, CyberArk GPOs and hardening policies is a plus.
  • Experience with Sailpoint, PingID, or other identity platforms is a plus.
  • Any experience in adopting Gen AI on above tool set is a plus.

Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
