Role Overview
We are looking for a data-savvy Business Analyst who can own the story behind the numbers. This role demands someone who can not only crunch data in multiple ways but also extract actionable insights, identify process inefficiencies, and drive cross-functional alignment through clear communication and compelling visualizations.
Key Responsibilities & Competencies:
Analytical & Problem-Solving
- Data Interpretation & Insight Generation – Deep dive into structured and unstructured datasets to extract insights, trends, and anomalies. Ability to dissect data from multiple angles and derive actionable insights
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) – Skilled in identifying underlying issues impacting business performance
- Critical Thinking – Connects the dots between metrics, trends, and business outcomes
Domain Knowledge & Process Acumen
- Process Gap Identification – Recognizes inefficiencies, redundancies, and control failures across workflows
- Business Process Modelling – Comfortable with tools like BPMN, SIPOC, or swim lane diagrams for visualizing processes
- Industry Acumen – Understands relevant KPIs and benchmarks specific to the business domain
Technical Proficiency
- Dashboarding & Visualization – Proficient in Power BI, Excel, etc., to build intuitive and actionable dashboards
- Data Querying – Ability to use SQL or similar languages for structured data extraction
- Tool Familiarity – Hands-on with documentation, collaboration, and knowledge management platforms (Confluence, SharePoint, JIRA)
Stakeholder & Communication Skills
- Cross-Functional Coordination – Can gather requirements and align deliverables across business, tech, and product teams
- Requirements Elicitation & Documentation – Adept at translating business needs into clear BRDs, FRDs, or user stories
- Presentation Skills – Synthesizes complex topics into concise narratives tailored for varied audiences
Execution & Continuous Improvement
- Change Management – Supports the implementation of new processes and tools while managing stakeholder adoption
- Quality & Accuracy Orientation – Maintains attention to detail under pressure and ensures data integrity
- Continuous Learning – Stays updated with new tools, industry trends, and analytical methodologies
Skills & Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, or a related domain
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven record in interpreting complex datasets and converting them into actionable business strategies.
- Experience working in cross-functional setups, especially within operations, product, or analytics teams.
- Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, SQL, or similar data analysis tools
- Working knowledge of data warehousing and querying large datasets
- Sound understanding of process design, stakeholder alignment, and gap identification.
- Ability to distil complex data into simple narratives that drive action.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional coordination skills
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
- Six Sigma trained or certified (Green Belt or higher preferred); proven application of structured problem-solving techniques in operational or data-driven environments.
- Exposure to process improvement, SOP development, or documentation tools (like Confluence, SharePoint)
- Familiarity with tools like Tableau, Looker, or Python for advanced analysis (a plus, not mandatory)
