Role: The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the resort food and beverage outlets as assigned.  Ensure excellent customer service and maximize revenue and profits. Develop and implement cost-saving and profit-enhancing measures. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures.  Fosters teamwork and ensures that the team provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs, striving to exceed guest expectations.  Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food & Beverage, Hospitality Management or related field is preferred. 
  • A minimum of five years of full service, upscale resort, or hotel experience in a leadership position.
  • Excellent communication skills required, both verbally and in writing, for interaction with guests, associates, vendors, and others
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations as demands require.

 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: 

Valid Clark County Health Card

Valid Las Vegas Alcohol Awareness Card

Valid Non-Gaming Card

Valid ServSafe Manager Certification

 

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:  Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Ensures a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Responsible for front and back of house food and beverage outlet as related to daily operations, supervision and management.
  • Ensures that personal work schedule is varied as needed to manage operations during busy and peak periods of business.  
  • Trains, coaches, develops, and mentors supervisory and management staff on guest service standards, policies and procedures.
  • Oversees front of house food and beverage outlet staffing and payroll.  Trains outlet managers to perform routine payroll tasks for their respective operations.
  • Holds supervisory and management staff accountable to adhere to department and company standards and procedures.
  • Communicates with guests regarding compliments, food complaints or concerns and general public relations.
  • Communicates with the leadership team on a frequent and regular basis with regard to food and service quality.
  • Ensures departmental compliance with all Clark County Health Department and departmental health and sanitation standards.
  • Assists in developing annual department budgets. 
  • Assists with menu planning and pricing revisions using menu engineering.
  • Ensures that the integrity of the point of sale system is maintained.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Partners with Room Chef to ensure food quality and standards are maintained

Work is performed in a hotel casino property.   Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. Must be able to work in an indoor environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  When near the casino floor, the noise level may be increased to loud.  A casino environment typically allows smoking.

  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests, associates, vendors, and others. 
  • Requires prolonged standing and mobility.  
  • Requires bending and reaching. 
  • Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Requires lifting items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires eye/hand coordination.  
  • Requires use of standard office equipment, including Micros System  
  • Requires basic math and accounting.  
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.   
  • Ability to comply with policies, procedures, job description, chemical labels (SDS) and other instructions.
