Join our Legacy  

Reporting to the R&D and processing Manager, the lab processor gathers samples from specified set of tanks in different stages of process and mix chemicals such as ferrous, lye and brine.


Your Contribution to Excellence 

  • Prepare chemical solutions such as ferrous and lye according to standard formulas.
  • Sample olives from every set of lye tanks to check penetration of the lye.
  • Add calcium to olives when necessary.
  • Record test results on standardized forms and write test reports.
  • Take samples from ferrous tanks and perform PH tests.
  • Drain process tanks to proper containment.
  • Check the progress of each set of tanks in the lye and make minor, necessary adjustments to process tank controls.
  • Order bulk processing ingredients and chemicals and receive the corresponding deliveries upon arrival.
  • Monitors and observes olive processing machines and systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Control and helps diagnose minor malfunctions and performs related basic maintenance repair activities and /or writes work order requests.
  • Maintain and update the processing data base to keep track of fruits quality and condition.
  • During bulk chemical receiving, the lab processor will do organoleptic tests to confirm the identity of the chemical delivered and log the information in the log sheet1.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, including active participation in the prompt identification and communication of safety hazards.
  • Must be able to work any shift and weekends as necessary, including overtime.
  • Immediately report all food safety and food quality problems to your supervisor1.
  • Use PC based operator interface to control computerized process.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What you Bring to the Table 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience or training.
  • Ability to use technical equipment and basic hand tools to perform minor repairs.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Proficient computer literacy, working knowledge of Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, and Outlook.

The Setting for Your Success

The employee is occasionally exposed to high places.  The employee is exposed to both hot and cold temperatures related to the normal outside weather conditions, and to wet and/or humid conditions.  The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 49 pounds (50 pounds and above require a team lift). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision, and distance vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  Also exposed to normal office environment.
