Your Role

 

The Quality Improvement team is accountable for quality ratings of the organization and the development and execution of targeted, quality improvement initiatives in support of the commercial medical groups, hospitals, affiliated providers, and our Covered California and CalPERS membership. The Program Coordinator, Experienced will report to the Senior Manager, Quality Improvement and receive support and direction from Program Managers. In this role you will assist the team in delivering results-oriented, data-driven solutions, crisp and professional communications, and organizing interdepartmental activities.  You have accountability for timely execution of deliverables within specific timeframes. The Program Coordinator, Experienced, works within large, multidisciplinary project teams, monitors milestones, analyzes data, and is expected to develop strong, collaborative relationships with internal, cross-functional matrix partners as well as external partners.

Your Work

 

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for strategic alignment and integration across projects/programs, from initiation through delivery, in support of business unit process and administrative efficiency 

  • Define projects required to support programs and partners to ensure their implementation on time, within budget and with benefits realized

  • Participate cross-functionally in business planning to support business unit strategy 

  • Exercise independent judgement in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results

  • Manage the dynamic team agendas, action items, and team calendaring incorporating stakeholders across the state

  • Develop data analysis, presentations, and workplans with minimal supervision and guidance from managing staff

  • Support Program Managers in their presentations, follow-up, and deliverables with assigned provider groups

  • Fully understand the contracts, data systems, timelines, benchmarks, and measures that the team works with across various lines of business, rating systems, and quality programs

  • Execute assignments that are moderately complex in nature where individual judgement is required to resolve problems and make recommendations

Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Requires at least 3 years of prior relevant experience

  • Requires strong computer skills, demonstrated mastery of all MS Office products (including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word); ability to execute data analysis in Excel to drive root cause analysis and produce PowerPoint presentation deliverables

  • Requires effective written and oral communications; including an ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources

  • Requires ability to establish and meet deadlines; beginner to intermediate project management skills for managing deadlines with small to medium teams

  • Required familiarity with benchmarking and health plan data such as HEDIS

  • Desired strong, collaborative problem-solving skills; able to work with multiple stakeholders

o   Employees living more than 50 miles from their assigned offices are expected to work with their managers on a plan for periodic office visits.

  • On-Site: Work from a business unit-approved office an average of four (4) or more days a week.

Physical Requirements:

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
