About the Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities of an Associate Financial Analyst are to update the quarterly P&L file for the forecast as well as the budget P&L file on a biennial basis. Additionally, this position will coordinate the monthly USBR Work Plan entry and submit to accounting and will also work closely on reconciling the Basin Development Fund on a monthly basis. The position will also be responsible for the Unearned Revenue and AR-GL monthly reconciliations and will be the lead on the Publisher file conversion project.

The duties include:
  1. On a quarterly basis, prepare the P&L file for the forecast. This includes updating actuals and budget for revenues and expenses, for all funds. Assists with other areas of the quarterly forecast.
  2. On a monthly basis, prepares the Unearned and AR-GL reconciliations, communicating and resolving any discrepancies with Water Control and providing the reports to accounting.
  3. On a monthly basis, prepares the USBR Work Plan journal entry and reconciles the Basin Development Fund, communicating and resolving any discrepancies with USBR.
  4. On an annual basis, provide support on the external audit. This includes preparing audit papers pertaining to the areas of responsibility and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
  5. Assists in the preparation of the biennial budget and long-range financial plan. Providing support to ensure analysis is completed timely. 
  6. Provide support to the various department projects. 
  7. Provide support to the monthly Power journal entry and reconciliation. This includes coordinating with Power Programs to ensure transactions are in balance prior to submitting the journal entry to Accounting. 
  8. Engage in assignments that have a low to moderate level of complexity
  9. Must maintain confidentiality of information obtained during the course of work.

About the Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in related field; OR high school diploma or equivalent along with 2 years of experience.

    Preferences:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 1 year experience in a similar position.
  • Experience using Oracle Enterprise Software.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
