Position Overview: Join our team at the Uncommon Goods pop-up shops as a Seasonal Retail Associate and bring your enthusiasm and dedication to creating a memorable shopping experience. As a Seasonal Retail Associate, you’ll be the face of Uncommon Goods, providing excellent customer service, sharing the stories behind our unique products, and creating memorable experiences for our shoppers. If you love interacting with people, enjoy a fast-paced retail environment, and want to be part of a fun and festive holiday team, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly and attentive customer service to ensure an exceptional shopping experience.
  • Engage with customers and share product stories, offering gift suggestions and information about our curated collection.
  • Maintain a well-stocked and visually appealing sales floor, including merchandising and restocking displays as needed.
  • Assist with cash register operations, including sales transactions, returns, and gift wrapping.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily sales goals and ensure smooth operations during high-traffic periods.
  • Uphold Uncommon Goods’ brand values and reflect our commitment to sustainability and unique, meaningful gifts.
  • Achieve daily, weekly and overall holiday sales goals.

Qualifications:

  • Retail or customer service experience is highly encouraged, but not required. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong motivation to engage customers and drive sales are essential.
  • Passion for delivering excellent customer experiences and enthusiasm for in-person shopping.
  • Strong communication skills and an outgoing, friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and reliable work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move merchandise as needed (up to 25 lbs).

Locations:

  • Grand Central Holiday Fair (Vanderbilt Hall, 89 E 42nd St, Manhattan)
    • Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday–Sunday
    • Shifts begin 15 minutes before opening.
  • Macy’s Herald Square (151 W 34th St, Manhattan)
    • Hours: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Monday–Sunday
    • Note: Starting the week of 11/22, hours may extend to 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, 10:00 PM, or 11:00 PM.
    • Shifts begin 15 minutes before opening and end 15 minutes after closing.

Duration: Starting late October / early November through December 2025, with possible extension through the first week of January.
