Position Description
The IT Support Technician II’s scope includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of basic hardware and some software support and maintenance. This position will also specialize in hardware and software relevant to the department or unit. Major/Essential Functions
- Provide technical support and assistance to clinics, programs, and employees with the use of hardware and some software support and maintenance.
- Specializes in hardware and software that support institutional strategic initiatives, and manage area or unit IT projects that impact multiple clinics or programs.
- Responsible for ordering of equipment and supplies for the division and maintains an accurate inventory of controlled assets and other OBGYN equipment. Keeps spare equipment in working order to be used as a backup if needed.
- Assists with set up for training sessions and meetings as needed to ensure technology is functional.
- Provide an IT overview for new OBGYN employees including activating eRaider accounts, email, phone, cerner access and computer setup.
- Maintain appropriate Dell certifications necessary to perform warranty repairs of Dell desktops and laptops.
- Collaborates and acts as liaison with OBGYN, TTUHSC IT, UMC IT regarding IT Projects related to OBGYN growth, such as office expansion, building construction, infrastructure upgrades, and network topology.
- Assists in solving network associated access problems encountered by OBGYN personnel.
- Develops and manages departmental servers and shares. Designs and sees that security models are implemented.
- Completes the Annual Property Inventory certification with Property Custodian
- Attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing assigned technical tasks.
- Provides planning for OBGYN IT enhancements, upgrades, and maintenance of desktop computers and other equipment as identified.
- All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus one (1) year related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.
