Overview

External technology is a major input to the product development efforts of the PSLs’ Technology teams. The Technology Scouting Program Manager is a central position instrumental to the technology scouting efforts of these PSL teams. He or she leads efficient access by the Technology org. to the most current trends and entrepreneurial advancements in technology segments important to the business; and leads sourcing and connecting with specific technology opportunities, responsive to their identified technology “Needs.”

Key Responsibilities

Internal Connecting and Coordination:

• Solicit / validate with Tech Directors their Technology Needs and Lead Scouts
• Network and promote Scouting process within Technology Org.
• Engage Scouts and other SMEs to understand interest areas and expertise
• Train all stakeholders on Scouting function, workflow, databases.

External Engagement:

• Develop and maintain relationships with academic institutions, consolidators, innovation hubs, tech transfer offices.
• Appropriately convey Needs, drive external curation.
• Organize periodic calls with external partners on technology segments and opportunities
• Lead / engage Scouts in external opportunity forums

Transactional Workflow:

• Pre-screen (with internal Scouts/SMEs) opportunities from partners
• Connect opportunities with appropriate Scouts / SMEs.
• Facilitate pitch calls between external companies and particular Scouts/SME’s
• Ensure appropriate boundaries (confidential info. etc) in all engagements
• Track and support databasing of pitch calls and associated content.

• Facilitate internal chat, workflow advancement, and disposition of databased opportunities by Scouts and SMEs
• Support Scouts in contracting (e.g. NDAs, Collaborations, etc)
• Assist with tracking technology-related agreements and project documentation.

Database Management:

• Administrator for Scouting, Technical Engagement, and TAP databases, lead periodic improvements.
• Train user base on databases and workflows
• Support leadership with summary reports

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, or business-related field
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a technology related role.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Familiar with technology disciplines and operational domains of the PSLs.
• Familiarity with database systems and IT coordination.
