As a Engineering Manager, you will directs the activities and operations of an engineering department/project team through assigning, coordinating, reviewing, and participating directly in the design, development and inspection of technical or engineering work/projects. Develops and implements standards, policies and procedures for engineering and technical work performed in the relevant department/project team.
General Accountabilities
- Recognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Responsible for immediately reporting flight/product safety concerns.
- Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Recognizes and understands the Just Culture policy.
Specific Accountabilities
- Developing and review data in compliance with 14 CFR 21, 33, 43, 91, 121 and 145
- Plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities and operations of an engineering department/project team.
- Develops and implements policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department/project team.
- Consults and negotiates with clients to prepare specifications, explain proposals and present engineering reports and findings.
- Assigns, coordinates and reviews the technical work of the department or project teams.
- May participate directly in the design, development and inspection of technical projects or in the engineering work of the department/project team.
- Oversees engineering projects to ensure they are technically sound and in compliance with all internal and external regulatory standards.
- Monitors the progress of on-going projects, makes recommendations for improving the process to meet the needs of the end-users, performs job cost reporting, budget analysis and reporting of overall project control.
- Determines if assistance is required from outside contractors, initiates arrangements, provides technical data and assists contractors with related support services.
- Exercises authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
- Actively participates as a member of the appropriate management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of departmental strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.
- Carries out special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 5 year experience in MRO Engineering support
- Minimum 2 years of experience directly supporting 14 CFR 145 operations
- Executing Power Plant Maintenance program requirements as related to 14 CFR 121
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
- Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
- Thorough knowledge of company instruction, company process and quality manuals.
- In jurisdictions governed by a regulatory body or with an association that is governed by local legal requirements, registration is required.
- University degree in an engineering discipline; or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in an engineering discipline, including supervisory experience.
