JOB SUMMARY:
The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including public and private organizations, non-profits, and local communities. The successful candidate collaborates with a wide range of partners to create and implement action plans that support the mission and goals of our organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Conduct door-knocking, home visits, cold calling, texting, events tabling, and canvassing to engage residents in Jobs Plus services and activities.
- Act as a liaison between Family Support Specialist and residents to promote participation and provide feedback.
- Help residents connect with available resources, including employment services, training opportunities, and community supports.
- Support a caseload of residents in creating and achieving goals identified in their Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Maintain regular contact to provide support, track progress, and offer referrals; update documentation and follow up to ensure engagement.
- Track and report outreach activities and resident interactions with data accuracy.
- Serve as a professional, accountable role model within the community.
- Attend internal program meetings, trainings, and external community events to stay current on resources and strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Residency Requirement: Current resident of Samuel Gompers or Audubon Terrace.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills for collaboration with residents, partners, and staff.
- Detail Orientation: Accurate and thorough in all tasks.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
- Cultural Competency: Commitment to cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and respect for diverse backgrounds.
- Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 25 lbs and walk stairs for door-knocking and outreach activities.
