The Moody’s Ratings Technology Team is seeking an AVP – Manager of Software Engineering with deep expertise in building robust, scalable, and high-performance web applications utilizing .NET or Java using Angular technologies. This role involves designing and delivering innovative solutions while also maintaining and enhancing existing systems to support the organization’s evolving needs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in software development.
  • Expert proficiency in .NET  or Java using Angular technologies.
  • Recent experience in managing and leading software engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of architectural styles and APIs, including REST and RPC.
  • Proven track record of implementing web applications using Java or C#, SpringBoot or ASP.NET Core, as well as HTML5, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON, REST, CSS, and SQL.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
  • Knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases, along with design and architectural patterns like Model-View-Controller (MVC).
  • Preferred: Familiarity with ratings and structured finance concepts.

Education:
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications utilizing Angular and either SpringBoot or ASP.NET Core frameworks.
    Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and implement new features.
  • Engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment and ongoing support.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, architectural guidelines, and functional specifications.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing systems to improve performance and reliability as needed.
  • Document each phase of development and continuously monitor systems to verify alignment with user requirements and business objectives.
  • Remain current with emerging technologies and industry trends to proactively recommend improvements and maintain technical excellence.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $140,200.00 - $203,350.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
