Arconic Co-Op Program
We’re currently seeking highly motivated and energetic students to join our Arconic Co-Op Program. A co-op position with Arconic allows students to be a part of dynamic and innovative projects, while providing ample mentoring and professional development opportunities. Working alongside professionals in their field, Arconic co-ops can sharpen their skills by applying their education to real-world situations through hands-on learning, gaining invaluable experience that can be utilized in any future role. As with internships, it is Arconic’s goal to evaluate its co-op associates for future potential entry-level openings, although full-time employment after completion of the program is not guaranteed. With over 20 locations across the US, there are opportunities to work in a variety of places around the country.
Responsibilities
An Mechanical Engineering co-op associate will be assigned a manager and a mentor for each rotation. The student will work at times in an office environment and other times in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures. The associate will work with other Engineering employees working on projects that have a real impact to the business. Other day-to-day aspects of work at our facility may include assisting with maintenance, repairs, project planning, and other tasks as assigned. The student is required to stay in good standing as a co-op student with Iowa State University in order to maintain their co-op status with Arconic.
Qualifications
- Must be a student at the Iowa State University that qualifies for their co-op status
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering
- Must be finished with sophomore year of schooling at the start of the first rotation
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements.
