Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Reporting:
- Oversee all hotel inventory transactions, including food, beverage, hotel, and uniform items.
- Ensure precise and accurate inventory tracking, cost control, and timely reporting of discrepancies to onboard and shoreside management.
- Perform remote audits and support yearly shipboard audits for all store areas.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures, industry standards, and public health regulations.
- Monitor slow-moving inventory, identify trends, and report findings to optimize stock management and reduce waste.
- Supervise and mentor Provision Masters and other storekeeping personnel. Provide training and ensure adherence to company guidelines.
- Assist in operational requirements by temporarily stepping into the Provision Master role when needed.
- Foster inter-departmental collaboration to ensure timely and accurate stock requisitioning and provisioning.
- Ensure proper rotation and maintenance of the storeroom, adherence to FIFO system, and overall store organization.
- Demonstrate leadership, offering coaching and mentoring for team development, and ensuring compliance with HESS-MS policies and procedures.
- Minimize waste, breakages, and mishandling of supplies, and improve existing systems to ensure better cost control.
- Analyze consumption data for food, beverage, hotel, and uniform items, ensuring accurate budgeting and reporting.
- Proactively identify opportunities to reduce onboard inventories, minimize waste, and increase efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, public health, and sanitation regulations.
- Conduct regular safety checks and participate in shipboard safety procedures.
- Monitor storerooms and report any discrepancies in inventory, following up on actions taken.
- Work closely with the Finance, Demand Planning, and Inventory Planning departments to facilitate effective reporting.
- Assist in planning and feedback for loading schedules in collaboration with Logistics and Supply Chain.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on supplier performance.
- Ensure positive interactions with guests when possible, addressing concerns or directing them to the appropriate departments.
- Contribute to the NPS (Net Promoter Score) by ensuring that job duties are performed to the highest standards.
- Maintain a strong and inclusive team culture, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and teamwork.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A relevant qualification in hospitality management, business, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in hotel operations, provisioning, inventory management, or a similar field within the hospitality or cruise industry.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team, including training and development.
- Expertise in Inventory Management & Control.
- Strong understanding of luxury hospitality standards, particularly in the cruise industry or hotel.
- Ability to collaborate with the Supply Chain, Finance and Demand Planning Teams
- Strong understanding of Cost Control & Budgeting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and supply chain operations. (MXP, Crunchtime, Fidelio)
